Ballet Flamenco La Rosa (BFLR), Miami’s most stellar flamenco company for the last 37 years, announces the world premiere of cutting-edge new work at the Koubek Center on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 8 PM and Sunday, March 5 at 3 PM. With its breathtaking footwork, magnificent music, and passionate energy, Flamenco is a perfect language to tell this iconic story. With its wide range of rhythms, styles and emotions, Flamenco provides a magnificent interpretation of this intense and powerful work.

Bird Woman is a multimedia performance by Carla Forte that fuses dance, film, original music and sound installation. It is based on and inspired by stories of Latina women immigrants. The piece explores the human condition and translates their stories into gestures, emotions and movements, creating a new language to express these women’s thoughts, desires, emotions and hopes.

Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM) presents their exciting premier of “Spanish Classical Night” in collaboration with Sanctuary of the Arts Choreographic Ensemble. Tracing the roots of our Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami, “Spanish Classical Night” features the best of the classical Spanish inspired repertoire emphasizing the relationship between classical ballet and traditional Spanish dance that has been a powerful influence on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries ballet repertoire. The program features: “Paquita”, staged for the Imperial Ballet of St. Petersburg in 1881, “Esmeralda” pas de six, inspired by the novel Notre-Dame de Paris, the world famous “Don Quixote” pas de deux, based on the famous Miguel de Cervantes novel, and a CCBM World Premiere of “La Casa de Bernarda Alba” (The House of Bernarda Alba) that honors the renowned Spanish writer Federico Garcia Lorca with this original ballet inspired by the legacy of his literary work.

The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine presents SWAN LAKE. Appropriate for all ages. Everyone entering the theater must have a ticket regardless of age. This includes infants and children.

Founded in 2011 by choreographer Soon-ho Park, Bereishit is a Seoul-based dance company that takes a contemporary approach to Korean traditional culture, focusing on fundamental values, as opposed to simply borrowing or transforming them. Park's work explores the issues of identity and transformation and delves into multimedia, street dance, community dance work and real time interactive demonstration. With heightened sensitivity towards space and rhythms, the company's captivating performances are delivered with kinesthetic clarity and power.

Direct from Rio de Janeiro, Companhia Urbana de Dança tears up the stage with a high-energy fusion of hip-hop, samba, capoeira, and contemporary dance in boldly imaginative choreography by Brazilian choreographer Sonia Destri Lie.
