CULTURE SHOCK MIAMI PRESENTS SERIES: 2023-2024 SEASON

Culture Shock Miami Presents is a series dedicated to presenting nationally and internationally renowned artists that appeal specifically to the 13-22 year old age range. It was created in 2013 and presents exciting performances each season curated for and geared towards teens and young adults. The series includes public performances and free school field trips. Culture Shock Miami Presents was recognized with a 2018 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo).

Family Fest in the Park: Sons of Mystro Presented by Arsht Center, Culture Shock Miami, and Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department of Miami-Dade County 

The Arsht Center’s free family series visits JL (Joe) and Enid W. Demps Park for an evening of music and film.

  • 5:30 p.m. – Live performance by student ensemble The Mays String Quartet.
  • 6 p.m. – South Florida sibling act Sons of Mystro will perform original music and genre-melding interpretations of reggae and pop classics.
  • 7 p.m.­ – Screening of the Disney-Pixar movie Soul, about a band teacher’s visit to a spiritual realm and featuring the voices of Jamie Foxx, Angela Bassett, Tina Fey, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Daveed Diggs with music by Jon Batiste and Trent Reznor.

The String Queens (co-presented with The Moss Center)

Praised for their authentic, soulful, and orchestral sound, The String Queens is a dynamic trio that creates stimulating musical experiences to inspire audiences to love, hope, feel and imagine!  Violinist Kendall Isadore, cellist Élise Sharp, and violist Dawn Johnson, will perform music from their new release, “RISE”, which showcases the group's vibrant sound with fresh takes on the music of contemporary soul legends and pop icons.
