Flamenco Sephardit IX Presented by Flamenco Sephardit

Experience the passion of pure Flamenco mixed with the Jewish Ladino traditions of Spain. Featuring a 9 member cast of international opera stars, guitarists, flamenco masters, and distinguished classical musicians, Flamenco Sephardit promises audiences an emotional and transcendent experience. The show has delighted thousands since premiering in Miami Beach 9 years ago. The show explores the connection between Ladino and Flamenco music, two distinct cultures born in Spain. The message of Flamenco Sephardit has always been to bring people of diverse cultures and religions together--to remind us that we all have similar origins, and to live together in peace. This year the Producers are excited to welcome guitar sensation Adam Del Monte and Flamenco dancer Natalia Novela to the cast, and to welcome back international opera stars Audrey Babcock, Nelson Martinez, and Flamenco all-stars Paco and Celia Fonta, Jose Moreno, and classical musicians Chava Appiah and Natalie Lee.

Coppelia Presented by Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida

COPPELIA Arts Ballet will bring its own version of "Coppelia" in March of 2022 with music by Leo Delibes and choreography by Vladimir Issaev based on such of Arthur Saint-Leon. Coppelia is a timeless ballet, favorite of dancers and audiences alike about the love story of a young girl Swanilda and her boyfriend Frantz. They believe a doll named “Coppelia” is a real girl and Frantz starts flirting with the adorable puppet. Captivated at the sight of Dr. Coppelius's new life-size doll, Frantz sneaks into the mad inventor’s workshop, and confusion begins leading into a delightful and lovely comedy.

Maya Billig - Gate Closes at 3:05 Presented by Miami Light Project

Join Miami Light Project and Maya Billig for a new dance theater work that transforms The Light Box into a post-apocalyptic speakeasy on February 4-5! Through contemporary movement and original live instrumental elements blended with electronic sounds, audiences are invited to lounge, strap-in, and take flight. The evening is composed of weaving narratives and electric encounters threaded together by notes of surrealism, outer space, the roaring 20’s, and of course, Miami.

Samsara Presented by Karen Peterson Dancers

Choregrapher, Karen Peterson Corash, will create a new multimedia physically integrated dance work, for eight dancers and three children, entitled "Samsara", with long time video collaborator, Maria Lino. The full-length work, based on disability, family dynamics and generational lineage comes from the Sanskrit/Pali word meaning the "cyclicality of all life, matter, existence". SAMSARA is the cycle of death and rebirth to which life in the material world is bound and the traces the life journey of many dance artists the KPD Company.

Portugal's Dança Em Diálogos Makes Florida Debut With Dance Now! Miami

Wishing you could easily visit Europe after two years of a public health crisis that has made travel difficult? Don't miss a taste of Lisbon's vibrant cultural scene with Dance NOW! Miami's Program II, featuring special guests Portugal's Dança em Diálogos (DeD), in their Florida debut. The evening will feature new interpretation of "Anusim, What is Hidden is Never Lost," choreographed and performed by both companies, as well as contemporary ballet works from DeD "Não Canteis A Valsa (Don’t Sing the Waltz)," a U.S. premiere, and the Florida premiere of "Prelude," with live music from the South Beach Chamber Ensemble. Dance NOW! Miami has two of their own pieces on the program, the Florida premiere of the new work "E/Motion," and the repertory "Grace."

T.W.I.S.T (These Women in Space and Time) By Adele Myers and Dancers Presented by SMDCAC

Join us for the highly anticipated World Premiere of Adele Myers and Dancers’ new evening-length dance theater work- T.W.I.S.T- featuring the company’s signature blend of athletic physicality and personal theatricality with a dash of wry wit. T.W.I.S.T is an acronym for These Women in Space and Time and offers engaging and empowering acts of female solidarity performed by a dynamic ensemble of female athletes of the heart. This foot stomping, heart pounding new work has been created as part of a newly established two-year commissioned company in residence program at South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center. T.W.I.S.T was also made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Pilobolus: Big Five-Oh! Presented by SMDCAC

For this 50th anniversary celebration, Pilobolus questions its own “givens,” turns its traditions sideways, and brings its past into the future. As fresh and vibrant as ever, Pilobolus –that feisty arts organism– puts the “Oh!” in BIG FIVE OH!, and continues to morph its way thrillingly into audiences’ hearts and minds. The celebration includes signature works from vintage classics to their trend setting innovative work in shadow. Run Time: 90 minutes

Miami International Ballet Competition - 5th Edition

Founding Artistic Directors Vladimir Issaev and Yanis Pikieris are proud to announce the fifth edition of the Miami International Ballet Competition (MIBC), to be held from January 19 to January 23, 2022 back at their original venue, the Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater.
