What It Is
Arts For Youth Miami was founded and designed by the Cultural Arts and Community Engagement Committee of the Miami-Dade Youth Commission, which is comprised of five young leaders who are dedicated to bringing the arts to students in the Miami area. Together, they gather information about the County’s top opportunities for young people—and then compile it into an engaging format for kids and adults alike to enjoy! What You’ll Find
While perusing the magazine, you’ll find information about organizations that are making waves in the arts accessibility space. These nonprofit and grassroots efforts are bringing kids everything from free instruments to dance enrichment classes—all in the name of ensuring that everyone can enjoy the arts. In the magazine’s latest edition, you can learn more about how Hungry for Music, Armour Dance Theatre, and the Miami Music Project are offering free arts opportunities to students in Miami. You’ll also learn more about the efforts of the Miami-Dade Youth Commission and Culture Shock Miami in providing that information to you.
One Special Feature
The latest edition of Arts For Youth Miami includes a special feature of the CHANCEMap, Miami-Dade County’s first interactive map of 36 accessible cultural opportunities. Through the map, students and parents can easily learn more about free- to low-cost extracurricular opportunities offered at various Miami-Dade County Public School (MDCPS) locations. Simply click on an opportunity that interests you to gain access to more information about each organization.
