A celebration of heritage, tradition, music, dance, culture and cuisine, the event is also a showcase for the German international studies and international education language programs within the Miami-Dade public school system. Parents, children & guests alike don lederhosen and dirndi in the spirit of traditional German attire. Classroom booths offer games and activities for all ages, while carnival style rides provide endless hours of entertainment. The musical melodies of Bavaria serve as a backdrop for dance routines performed by German theater groups. These professionals eventually give way on the central stage to children from each age group who take part in traditional dance and musical performances throughout the day. And what would any Oktoberfest be without samplings of the traditional tastes of Germany - both food and beverage?
