Audiences are saying "What is this?" "Why's this on my news feed?" and "Where am I?" Just as the title suggests the show is a fun, off-the-wall take on a talk show based around a series of rapid-fire random questions. Guests are all FTF alumni—both past and present, featuring performers, directors, designers, etc.—all the kinds of people who make FTF possible. This show is our way of celebrating our great and talented artists both on stage and off—and it’s a gig in the pandemic! Ballet Flamenco La Rosa: Call for Stories

Ballet Flamenco La Rosa is reaching out to the community for collaboration in a project selected by The Knight Foundation New Work 2020 initiative. We invite everyone to submit writings about their feelings and experiences during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Students, teachers, artists and all humans are invited. You may submit poetry, essays, journal entries, spoken word pieces or thought fragments to be considered for inclusion in our project. All points of view are welcome. Your piece may be sad, happy, ironic, comic, fearful, inspirational or whatever you like. Please keep in mind that it must be appropriate for General Audiences. The project, entitled Me Duele el Aire, will be a Dance/Theatre piece, using these writings as inspiration. We will create a Flamenco work, and include some of these writings as part of the lyrics to be sung by the Flamenco singer, and some as source for images and scenes. Credit will be given to all participants. Please include with your submission: Name - Phone Number - Email Address Optional: Short Bio Artistic Director Ilisa Rosal, along with Guitarist/Composer Jose Luis de la Paz, will create the musical score and choreography to be performed by diverse Flamenco artists for an original work to be streamed online. Typically presented at New World Center and the YoungArts Campus, the 2021 program will be presented for free online. The 144 artists showcased throughout the week, all YoungArts award winners at the Finalist level, the organization's highest honor, have been selected through a prestigious national competition and chosen by esteemed discipline-specific panels of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process. From January 3-9, the artists will participate in an intensive program of online classes and workshops with internationally recognized leaders in their fields, and will record and develop their work for National YoungArts Week +. Starting Monday, January 25, you will get the chance to meet these accomplished young artists from across the country in a six-part series of free virtual performances, writers’ readings and an exhibition.
