Cage, Ligeti and Ortiz Presented by New World Symphony

Mix music and mixology during this relaxed concert dedicated to visionary new music. Experience something new as Percussion Fellows share music by some of the most imaginative composers of the last century. Grab a themed cocktail or mocktail to enjoy while listening to Liquid Borders—a utopian reflection on Mexico by one of its leading composers, Gabriela Ortiz. Hungarian mezzo-soprano Katalin Károlyi returns for György Ligeti’s With Pipes, Drums, Fiddles—his final work inspired by the fanciful poems by Sándor Weöres. Hammers is a feverish mix of solo flute and percussion, while John Cage experiments with unusual instruments to create a metallic soundscape.

CAP @ SRT: Brazilian Voices Concert

Brazilian Voices, the acclaimed female vocal group, presents AMAZONAS: The Rhythm of Nature. The performance will portray the strengths and threats of the Amazon Rainforest. Through music, engagement with the audience, and screen images by the Brazilian artist Ernesto Kunde, the group will spread awareness of the importance of the Amazon rainforest, the Everglades, and the planet's ecosystem. The program includes a visual arts component with the participation of two Brazilian artists residing in Miami. Clara Piquet will exhibit her paintings at the gallery lobby, which will include themes on Brazilian indigenous communities and the environment. Ernesto Kunde, a visionary artist renowned for his transformative prowess, skillfully captures dynamic landscapes on canvas, wood, and aluminum. Beyond aesthetics, Kunde's mission extends deeper—he aspires to awaken consciousness about evolving environments. This event sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) consists of two interactive performances with songs with original arrangements. These performances are made possible through the Cultural Arts Partnership Program (CAP@SRT), a collaborative initiative by Fantasy Theatre Factory to enhance cultural engagement at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. Join us for a FREE reggae and SKA concert featuring The Wailers, the world famous Grammy-nominated band known for appearing with legends like Bob Marley, Julian Marley and Peter Tosh. Get ready for a family friendly evening of “irie” vibes and Caribbean culture to kick off the Moss Center’s 2023-3034 season. The night gets started with opening band Kobo Town, a Canadian calypso, reggae band, by way of Trinidad. Don’t miss this evening of great music, food, and one love! Multi-GRAMMY Award-winner Arturo O’Farrill and his 20-piece Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra bring that classic Cuban big band sound to the Miami Beach Bandshell for an unforgettable night revisiting acclaimed compositions including “The Manteca Suite,” and “AfroCuban Jazz Suite” as well as new arrangements by an array of today’s most distinguished Latin artists. Herencia Cubana IV: Cuban Composers XIX Century by FCO

Jose White, Ignacio Cervantes, Ernesto Lecuona, Jose Manuel (Lico) Jimenez and Eduardo Sanchez de Fuente. As a part of the Cuban Heritage concert series the Florida Chamber Orchestra and its conductor, Maestro Marlene Urbay, will present a highlights of important composers of the 19th century with special attention to the music of Lico Jimenez. Cuban musicologist, Isidro Betancourt, has been researching and working for years to rescue the music of Lico Jimenez, whose career is unknown inside Cuba. Maestro Urbay has joined the project to rescue Jimenez's music, presenting to the world another Cuban composer who shaped the greatness of Cuban music of the 19th century. A Night of Bel Canto at the Beach Presented by Florida L'Opera & Zarzuela Corp.

Come and join us in a relaxing Bel Canto Opera Concert Performance including some of the most well-known lyric works by Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, and Verdi. An evening concert with classical singers and piano, featuring international artists Herman Díaz, Lauren Frick, Kiley Hernández, Lucia Panizza, Lovell Rose, and Paul Schwartz.

Melissa Erico Presented by Aventura Arts and Culture Center

Melissa Errico is a Tony Award-nominated Broadway star—an actor, singer and author. As a musical theater actress, she starred on Broadway in such musicals as My Fair Lady where The New York Times called her Eliza Doolittle "beguiling," Anna Karenina, High Society as Tracy Lord, Amour (Tony-nominated for Best Actress), Dracula, White Christmas in the Rosemary Clooney role of Betty, and as Cosette in Les Misérables. Melissa has maintained a constant TV presence throughout her career, starring in Darren Star's Central Park West, steady guest roles, and most recently playing recurring roles on Showtime's Billions and Cinemax's The Knick. She has five Drama Desk nominations, a Lucille Lortel Award, two Helen Hayes nominations, four Drama League Honors, and a Tony Award nomination. She was honored with a Sardi's caricature and also served a term on the National Endowment For The Arts.
