FIU Music Festival: Strings United: From Baroque to the 20th Century

The 2023 FIU Music Festival’s opening night brings an unparalleled fusion of talent to the stage, featuring the world-renowned Amernet String Quartet and exceptional guest artists, Ani Kavafian, violin; Thomas Mesa, cello; and Mari LiisPäkk, violin. Ready For Christmas: "A Decade Of The Jazz Series Celebration" by Negroni's Trio Presented by MDCA

MDCA & Jose Negroni, celebran "A Decade of The Jazz Series Celebration" 2013-2023. La noche del viernes 8 de diciembre tendrá un concierto lleno de ritmo, improvisación y grandes melodías, villancicos, canciones latinas y americanas de navidad. Negroni tendrá de invitados a artistas reconocidos por la academia de los Grammy latinos. Nomar Negroni (Batería), Alex Hernandez (Bass), Sammy Figueroa (Perc), Daniela Padrón (violin), Ramiro Malagon (Guit & cuatro puertorriqueño), Paola Guanche (Voz), Alejandro Primero (Voz) con la dirección y el piano J. Negroni. MDCA and Jose Negroni are excited to celebrate "A Decade of The Jazz Series Celebration" from 2013 to 2023. Friday, December 8, will be a night filled with rhythm, improvisation, breathtaking melodies, Christmas carols, and Latin and American Christmas songs. Negroni has invited artists recognized by the Latin Grammy Academy to join the celebration as a special treat.

Spooky Symphony Presented by Alhambra Orchestra & GMYS

Free family Halloween concert featuring movie themes and dramatic classical pieces, performed by a huge orchestra. Projected images enhance the supernatural experience. The program will feature movie themes from Frozen, Ghostbusters, Apollo 13 and Star Wars, plus excerpts of classics Night on Bald Mountain, Firebird Suite and Symphonie Fantastique. Audience encouraged to wear costumes. Presented in partnership with Greater Miami Youth Symphony and The Children's Trust.

Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, Paraguay Presented by FIU Wertheim School of Music

On tour! The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura is made up of children from Paraguay who play instruments made from Asunción's Cateura landfill. The Wertheim School of Music is joining forces with the Consulate of Paraguay in Miami and nationwide to partner and present this orchestra to local audiences.
