Monsieur Perine Presented by Escala Sonora x Rhythm Foundation

Monsieur Periné is a musical laboratory that shares a vision of the world, love and freedom through their multidimensional work. Led by Catalina García and Santiago Prieto, both born and raised in Colombia, they have received multiple awards for their unique and eclectic approach that blends jazz, swing and pop with Latin American sounds like salsa, cumbia and bolero. They are currently celebrating the award for Best Alternative Music Album "Bolero Apocalíptico" at the Latin Grammy Awards (2023). Presented by Escala Sonora & Rhythm Foundation. Food & beverage are available for purchase at the show. The Bandshell is an open-air covered venue, all programs are rain or shine.

Jacuzzi Boys Presented by The Rhythm Foundation

Hatched inside a vulture's nest, Jacuzzi Boys emerged from deep within the Florida wilds, three radioactive chicks cawing for their piece of electric rock pie. Since then, they've released four full-length LPs, multiple singles and most recently, two EPs Dipped and Glue via their own imprint MAG MAG. And it's with this bag of tunes in tow, that they've toured the world, and Europe and even the United States, with some of the most infamous names in rock like King Khan and the Shrines, Black Lips, Man or Astroman?, Vampire Weekend, the Raconteurs and their adopted uncle Iggy Pop. Now for a triumphant homecoming show at the Bandshell.

Etienne Charles’ Creole Soul Presented by The Rhythm Foundation x French Cultural Services

Jazz master Etienne Charles is an artist who searches for untold stories and sounds to tell via his lush trumpet sound, varied compositional textures and pulsating percussive grooves. He finds inspiration in the rhythms of Trinidad's Carnival, the magnificent brass bands, vintage calypso and soca. His Creole Soul project is his deep dive into the these pan-Caribbean interconnected musical forms. He is working with the beguine from his great-grandfather’s homeland of Martinique, creating an homage to the legendary French composer/artist Henri Salvador from French Guiana (and who Antonio Carlos Jobim credited with the genesis of Bossa nova!). His new work is finding transcendence in these inter-connected rhythms. Fête de la Musique is the annual global day of music, originally begun in Paris, to welcome summer with free music. This program is presented by Rhythm Foundation and French Cultural Services of the Consulate General of France of Miami, in partnership with Make Music Miami, Alliance Française, France Florida Foundation for the Arts, and Villa Albertine.

North Beach Social: Dav Julca & Friends Presented by The Rhythm Foundation

Dav Julca has built Joy Studios into a hub for music, community and culture - a place for artists to create and collaborate. Throughout his career as a singer, musician, producer and songwriter, he has worked with a who’s who in Latin and pop stars, as well as thrived on launching new talent. Joy Studios Pop Up brings this creative ecosystem together, and shares the magic with the public. His own music as a solo artist is a bold musical experience that combines groovy sounds with influences of salsa, bolero, pop, funk, jazz, urban, and Latin rhythms. He is a 6x Latin Grammy and 2-time Grammy nominee., with 2 Latin Grammy awards. This night of music will feature myriad special guests, singers and instrumentalists, for a free concert as part of the monthly North Beach Social. North Beach Social is the free monthly meet up for music loving neighbors, presented on Third Thursdays at the Miami Beach Bandshell.

Concertazo by the Sea Presented by Miami Beach Bandshell

"Concertazo by the Sea" will present some of the most famous Opera, Operetta and Classical musical pieces among other American Standard and Latin American songs, performed by soprano and host Maylu Herrnandez and her special guests, Saeed Mohamed (tenor), Pedro de los Rios (tenor), Orley Cruz (baritone), Juan Manuel Campos (singer, pianist and violinist), Silvia Ludueña (mezzo-soprano) and Kiley Hernandez (soprano). Caro Dance ballet with 3 classical dancers will add a touch of elegance to the Recital as well as, a brief intervention offered by The Miami Beach Senior Chorus and Iselina Acosta.

Serenade to Motherhood: A Choral Celebration Presented by Miami Collegium Musicum

Join Miami Collegium Musicum, Miami’s premier community chamber chorus, for a special evening of choral music to celebrate Mother’s Day. With piano and string quartet accompaniment, Collegium pays tribute to mothers and the nurturing spirit of motherhood through song. The program features works by Johannes Brahms, Elaine Hagenberg, Léo Delibes, Maurice Duruflé, and others.

Marina, Zarzuela Highlights in Concert Presented by Florida L'Opera & Zarzuela Corp.

Originally written as a zarzuela by Emilio Arrieta, and later edited by the same composer as Spanish Opera, Marina stands out as a true Bel Canto mastepiece in Donizetti's Italianate style. Featuring soprano Roxana Triana, tenor Carlos Silva, bass-baritone Johan Hartman, baritone Jose Tauler, and pianist Zayli Escalona, in a wonderful concert version of this Spanish beloved classic. Join us in an memorable evening of Spanish Bel Canto. The plot, set in a fishing village, revolve around the orphan Marina and the sea captain Jorge, who through a misunderstanding over a letter she treasures and a false report by the shipwright Pascual, a rival suitor, are kept apart until matters are hastily resolved by the disclosure that the letter was from her dead father.

Miami Music Project presents an All-Star Concert featuring Latin Grammy Nominee Simone Torres, Univision Multimedia Talent Vicky Van Eerdewijk and Travel TV Personality Augusto Valverde, not to mention Hector Molina and exceptional Venezuelan composer, cuatro and guitar player, and Latin Grammy winner! All in addition to our own amazing Advanced Children's Orchestras!

Jazz @ Koubek Presented by Koubek Center

The Koubek Center celebrates “the sound of surprise,” as this music was once called, with the second edition of Jazz @ Koubek. This two-night event on May 3rd and 4th at 8 pm. will offer a chance to enjoy established talents and discover jazz’s next generation. Vocalist and songwriter Leesa Richards Quartet and the Jean Caze Quartet headline the opening night concert on Friday, May 3rd. Richards has proven comfortable and effective in singing jazz, soul, and R&B, performing with artists such as Faith Hill, The Bee Gees, and Gloria Estefan, and appearing on the Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar national tour. Haitian American trumpeter and composer Jean Caze’s credits include performing with leading artists such as Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, and Michael Bublé. The following evening will be a trio showcase featuring three-time GRAMMY-nominated Negroni Trio, led by pianist Jose Negroni and Washington D.C. area bassist Noah Nipp and his Double N Trio.
