This Bitter Earth by world renowned choreographer Christopher Wheeldon is a moving pas de deux that fills up the room and takes your breath away with its power and smoldering beauty. Dinah Washington’s soulful 1960 hit This Bitter Earth is remixed with Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight to create a cinematic and haunting soundtrack.
After the ballet, MCB dancers Rainer Krenstetter and Emily Bromberg join Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez for a conversation about their experiences learning and performing this work, and what it’s like to partner your best friend on stage.
