The Koubek Center at Miami Dade College and Centro Cultural Español present ELLAS SON CINE, a film festival of the Fundación Mujeres Por África, based in Madrid, Spain.
March is International Women's History Month, which commemorates women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.
Joining the celebration, the Koubek Center in collaboration with the Centro Cultural Español de Miami (Spanish Cultural Center of Miami), will offer an award-winning selection of ELLAS SON CINE (They Are Cinema) a program of the Fundación Mujeres Por África (Women For Africa Foundation) based in Madrid, Spain.
ELLAS SON CINE is the main program of the Foundation's audiovisual project. Its principal objective is to promote knowledge and enjoyment of cinema directed by African women.
So far, ELLAS SON CINE has screened 42 feature films and seven short films from 18 countries. This presentation at the Koubek Center is the first time the program has been offered in the United States.
All feature films will be subtitled in English and Spanish.
