Multimedia artist Zeek Mathias will share his perspective of a Black man in in today’s America through photography, short film and through a conversation which will be moderated by Eurica Betsy Ketant and Dorrine Jean Gilles.
2020 – WHO AM I? Does not only reflect on the life and work of Zeek, but on our own lives and the crossroads we’ve encountered in 2020. We will witness the multi-dimensional works and styles of Zeek.
Zeek considers his works to be unfinished as one propels him to the next. This unfinished work has become the springboard to a body of work that attempts to encompass a critical review of its defining art, culture and society. He will tap into his photo series, Sound the Tanbou and feature his new work, Tears from the Angels Below which examines the duality of the impact of COVID19 and racial biases.
