Tout-Monde Festival: Yue Patchwork Workshop

Since 2005, in Guadeloupe and in Reunion Island, Guy Gabon launched several educational projects in order to teach children and teens the importance of giving a second life to our trash. The first workshop was about using old wrappings to create original gift bags. In a high school, for three years, Guy taught students about Eco Design and table art. She also invented a scenography inspired by the Louvre Museum in Paris. The workshop Yué patchwork is offered to children during the second edition of the Tout-Monde Festival for them to learn how to cut and sew blue jeans with plastic materials. During these workshops, they create an artwork for the Yué#Sorority art installation and performance that will take place on March 14th, 2019. Volunteer performers meet up for two weeks in Little Haiti Cultural Center in Little Haiti and the Koubek Center in Little Havana during dance and sewing workshops with the artists.
