Saturday’s program features performers from Broward and Palm Beach Counties at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, while Sunday’s concert highlights Miami-Dade students at Granada Church. About the Young Local Pianists Concert Each spring, the Chopin Foundation presents a showcase of outstanding piano students under the age of 18 from across South Florida. Students are nominated by their teachers and selected through audition by a panel of professionals to participate in this unique all-Chopin program—part of the Foundation’s mission to support and encourage the development of young American pianists.

These free concerts feature the timeless music of Chopin—performed by artists whose careers are gaining national and international attention. In February, the Chopin Foundation welcomes Angie Zhang, 6th Prize winner of the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition and finalist in the 2025 American Pianists Awards. A sought-after soloist, chamber musician, and fortepianist, Zhang brings both historical insight and contemporary creativity to the CHOPIN for ALL stage. About Angie Zhang American pianist and fortepianist Angie Zhang is the 6th Prize winner of the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition and a finalist in the 2025 American Pianists Awards. She has also been recognized at major competitions including the International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments, Honens, and was a three-time winner of the Juilliard Concerto Competition. Zhang has performed over 45 times as soloist with orchestras such as the Indianapolis Symphony, Juilliard Orchestra, Missouri Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, under conductors including Fabio Luisi, JoAnn Falletta, and Jeffrey Kahane. Equally active in solo, chamber, and historical performance, she has appeared at festivals including Bravo! Vail, Ravinia, La Jolla Music Society, and Music@Menlo. A graduate of The Juilliard School and the University of Michigan, she is known for her work in both modern and period instrument performance. Her recent two-disc Chopin recording on historical pianos was produced by the Polish National Institute of Frederic Chopin.

These free monthly concerts bring world-class pianists to your neighborhood—and always feature the timeless music of Chopin. This January, we welcome Karina Tseng, winner of the Best Polonaise Prize and a semi-finalist in the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition. With recent accolades from prestigious international competitions across Europe and the U.S., Tseng brings her sensitive artistry and global perspective to the CHOPIN for ALL stage. About Karina Tseng American pianist Karina Tseng is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and winner of the Best Polonaise Prize at the 2025 National Chopin Piano Competition, where she was also a semi-finalist. Based in Switzerland and Italy, she has recently earned top prizes at the Ricard Viñes, Andrea Baldi, and Samson François International Competitions, with performances across Europe and the United States. A past winner of the Marian Garcia International Competition and the youngest finalist at the 2023 Bösendorfer USASU International Competition, Tseng has also appeared with the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Festival Orchestra, Palo Alto Philharmonic, and New Millennium Chamber Orchestra.

Appearing in December is pianist Tim McKay, First Prize winner of the 2025 MTNA Young Artists National Competition. A dedicated performer and student, McKay has been recognized across the United States for his exceptional artistry and has recently represented his university abroad. His talent and rising career make him a welcome addition to this season of CHOPIN for ALL. About Tim McKay Tim McKay is an undergraduate piano performance major at Brigham Young University, where he studies with Scott Holden. In 2025, he won First Prize in the MTNA Young Artists National Competition. He has also earned top prizes in several regional contests, including First Place in the UMTA Concerto Competition and Second Place in the Grand Teton Music Festival Scholarship Competition, held at Walk Festival Hall in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In addition to his competition accolades, McKay performed internationally in 2024 with a BYU touring ensemble at Namhansanseong Hall in Seoul, Korea. His musical journey reflects a commitment to both excellence and exploration

These concerts feature the timeless music of Chopin, and everyone is invited! Opening the season is Jonathan Mamora, First Prize winner of the 2025 Hilton Head International Piano Competition. Praised by The Dallas Morning News for his “most assured pianism” and “natural, songful lyricism,” Mamora has won top prizes at international competitions from Barcelona to Dallas. About Jonathan Mamora Indonesian-American pianist Jonathan Mamora has performed across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Winner of the 2025 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, he has also taken top prizes at the Scottish, Olga Kern, Dallas, and Maria Canals Barcelona International Competitions. His Carnegie Hall recital at Weill Recital Hall in 2023 was praised by New York Concert Review as “larger than life… with a technique so solid that it seemed at times that he couldn’t play a wrong note if he tried.” Mamora has appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, New Mexico Philharmonic, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, and Dallas Chamber Symphony, among others. He is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the Eastman School of Music and will begin his appointment as Director of Keyboard Studies at La Sierra University in fall 2025.

The 2026 Miami International GuitART Festival presents virtuoso guitarist and bossa nova specialist Freddie Bryant in concert, performing a program of classical and Brazilian jazz works.
