The City of Aventura is proud to present the National Players' Production of A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, Directed by Danielle Drakes. Fairies, thespians, and runaway lovers all find themselves wandering the forest at night. With the fairy king and queen scheming, the lovers escaping, and the ragtag troupe of actors hastily rehearsing a show for the duke's wedding tomorrow, what more could go wrong? When a fairy named Puck accidentally misapplies a love potion and purposefully transforms an actor into a donkey, it will take more than magic to set things right. Get lost in the forest with the National Players in the most epic romantic entanglement of all time. A magical comedy that's fun for children and adults alike.

A Raisin in the Sun Presented by the City of Aventura

The City of Aventura is proud to present the National Players' Production of A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, Directed by Christopher Michael Richardson. The members of the Younger family dream bigger than the small house where they live on the south side of Chicago in the 1950s. When their deceased father's insurance money comes through, those dreams might actually become a reality. Walter Lee wants to run his own business and earn financial independence, but his sister Beneatha dreams of attending medical school. Meanwhile, their mother Lena wants to move them all to a bigger home in a white neighborhood. What will finally allow the Youngers to move up in the world, and who will have their dreams deferred? National Players is honored to portray this award-winning drama with a universal story about an African American family dealing with prejudice, history, and a world where everything changes.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater Presented by Seminole Theatre

The World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a family-oriented blend of the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich, and the talents of his furry costars. There are more than 30 pets in the show, each one has been rescued from animal shelters and given a new leash on life! They love to perform their skills and stunts on stage. We have new additions to the show as well – a goat duo Kurt and Helgo, and a special guest star Mr. Diamond, the miniature horse! Gregory Popovich has shared his expertise for raising, training and living harmoniously with pets in two book – “You CAN Train Your Cat” and “Doggy Gone Good”. Gregory has also produced and starred in a feature film now available for purchase. “Popovich and the Voice of the Fabled American West” has already won several awards including “Audience Choice Award” at the Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles, and International Film Festival in Austin, TX . Gregory him self has been vots in Las Vegas “Entarianer of the Year”

American Son Presented by Brévo Theatre

Brévo Theatre presents “American Son” by Christopher Demos-Brown, directed by Terrence Pride. This show tells of an estranged bi-racial couple who must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son. Runtime: Approximately 1hr. 30mins. (15-minute intermission) Following our show, on February 13, we will have a talkback entitled "2 Shades of Black: An Exploration of Biracial Identity," with playwright Christopher Demos-Brown as our special guest, evoking a conversation about living a biracial life and their experiences. Admission to the talkback will be free. If you plan to only attend the talkback, you will be admitted once the performance concludes. The talkback will also be streamed via Facebook Live and Zoom. The Elixir of Love (L'elisir d'amore) Presented by Miami Lyric Opera

Opera in 3 Acts / Music by: Gaetano Donizetti \ Libretto: Felice Roman 19 and 20i \ Sang in Italian with supertitle in English. In a village somewhere in northern Italy, a young, peasant, Nemorino, secretly loves the beautiful Adina who pays him no attention. She instead promises to marry an opportunistic sergeant whose small army has arrived in the village. An itinerant and colorful quack, Dr. Dulcamara, arrives offering all kinds of medications, love potions and remedies. By buying a love potion, One is a love potion. Nemorino sees it as his opportunity for gaining Adina’s love. With the only coin he owns, Nemorino asks Dulcamara to sell him the elixir (which is simple red wine) Happy to get it, Nemorino drinks the whole bottle and becomes intoxicated. Adina is surprised by his behavior insists she doesn’t love him and will soon marry the sergeant. A desperate Nemorino must buy more elixir but has no money. The sergeant reappears offering him money once he signs a contract to enlist in the army. Such a gesture moves Adina; realizing it is Nemorino who she really loves, she buys back his contract and declares her love. The opera has beautiful music being one of the greatest belcanto Masterwork of Gaetano Donizetti. We well remember the famous aria “Una Furtiva Lagrima” sang by the great Caruso, Beniamino Gigli, Tito Schipa and other great tenors to our days. Cast: Nicholas Huff as Nemorino, Gina Galati as Adina, Oscar Ramirez as Dulcamara, Gabriel Menendez as Belcore, Paola Elorza as Giannetta.
