This afternoon’s concert opens with visiting composer Aaron Perrine’s A Glimpse of the Eternal, which he has said alludes to the idea of “coming home.” It’s followed by Aaron Copland’s challenging Emblems, his only work for band. Then take delight on Gustav Holst’s masterwork, The Planets, in which he represented the planets in the Solar System, each with its corresponding astrological character.
