With contagious and gloriously musical dancing, the Limón Dance Company is making the classics alive for today, and delighting with vibrant contemporary choreographic voices:
“…Suddenly they looked more like today” Wendy Perron, Dance Magazine
“The front ranks of American dance, a spot it deserved then, and deserves now.” Elizabeth Zimmer, The Village Voice
“(Limon’s) repertoire, brilliantly performed by a new generation of dancers, still affects us today…The troupe appears re-vitalized.” Robert Johnson, Dance Enthusiast
“As a highlight of the 2018 Pillow season, it was stunning to experience.” Charles Giuliano, Berkshire Fine Arts,
For this program, The Limón Dance Company brings two of José Limón’s masterworks: The Exiles, an intimate and moving story of immigrants and refugees everywhere, and Psalm, a sweeping choreographic achievement of urgency, joy, anguish, and rhythmic vibrancy. In fiercely contemporary contrast, Yin Yue’s No Room for Wandering is a celebration of effort where two men fight together for every inch, and Colin Connor’s The Weather in the Room, is a fresh, playful and touching take on how relationships shift like weather itself.
