The 7th installment of The Forward Motion Dance Festival and Conference of Physically Integrated Dance is scheduled for May 15th (technical) 16th, (two performances) 17th, (two workshops and conference) 2026 at the Sandrell Rivers Theatre in Miami. The festival will highlight the works of three choreographers from REVolutions Dance Company (Frank Chavez, Merry Lynne Morris, Leymis Balanõs Wilmott from Tampa, Florida) and highlight the work of Artistic Director, Marisa Hamatodo and dance partner from Infinite Flow based in Los Angeles, California.
Karen Peterson and Dancers will also present work from repertory favorites including “In The Blink of an Eye” and “Duets for Six” for her company of ten members.
Renowned author and speaker Silva Laukkanen will serve as the guest conference facilitator and speak about dance inclusion in the public school sector for students with special needs on Sunday, May 17th at 12 noon. The event will include two performances, two workshops, and a round table discussion on a yet-to-be-announced topic, all centered around the theme of inclusive dance.
Teens and young adults ages 13-22 can buy tickets for $5 using the Get Tickets button below. With the purchase of one $5 ticket for someone within the age range, a second $5 ticket can be purchased for an individual of any age to join them.
