The 2024 Miami International GuitART Festival presents a lecture on Traditional Turkish and Sufi Music. Anatolian Ensemble members, Turkish kemeche virtuoso Neva Ozgen and cellist Yelda Ozgen will demonstrate the major modes (makams) in traditional Turkish and Sufi music through preludes or interludes (taksims). They will discuss the role of improvisation in traditional Turkish music, both from compositional and performance perspectives. The festival takes place from February 16th through 25th with daily concerts, master classes, lectures, and Luthiers Expo. 2024 MIGF FESTIVAL PASS is available to attend all festival events at a single reduced price.
