The Miami City Ballet family are delighted to invite young artists of color, their families and teachers to our first Virtual Open House events. Take class, meet company dancers, enjoy a virtual tour of the MCB studios and more.
Virtual Open House events are free online, interactive experiences designed to welcome and create access for young artists of color to visit behind-the-scenes of Miami City Ballet, one of America’s premiere ballet companies, and Miami City Ballet School, one of America’s leading dance training institutions.
These events are part of Miami City Ballet’s commitment to create equal access and opportunity for young artists, and to the future of our art form. This initiative is the first in a number of action steps and reforms we will implement over time to move ballet forward and become an art form for everyone.
Admission is free but registration is required.
MCB School
Sat Mar 27, from 10am
The virtual visit begins with a tour of Miami City Ballet’s studios.
Then, you can take part in one of three classes led by MCB School faculty members:
Ballet technique with Kareen Camargo (ages 14 and up), or jazz with Herman Payne (ages 12 and up), or ballet technique with DeAnn Petruschke (ages 9-12)
After class, join an informal town hall meeting with MCB students, parents and faculty, where everyone is welcome to chat and ask questions.
