The Halloween Tradition Continues! Magic City Opera presents its 4th Annual Hansel and Gretel: A Halloween Opera as part of Miami Beach Arts in the Parks.

 

The largest Hispanic Music Festival in the U.S. goes virtual for 2020 as we bring you "Calle Ocho Live!"

Join us on Sunday, October 4th as we celebrate and uplift the Latino community during Hispanic Heritage Month with the first ever virtual version of Carnaval Miami’s world famous CALLE OCHO MUSIC FESTIVAL. From 3:00pm - 7:00PM EST

Among the stars that are already part of its growing roster are Mau y Ricky (Kings of Carnaval Miami 2020), Fonseca, Gloria Estefan, Camilo, Ivy Queen, Jessi Uribe, Cali y el Dandee, Jorge Celedón, and Bobby Pulido.

A Bagatelle, by definition, is something trivial and minute. In Beethoven’s hands, it transcended these connotations, becoming a medium to express ideas ranging from profoundly philosophical to humorous and aphoristic. The title of the program refers to bagatelles as snapshots of infinitely-varied psychological states. Composers have continued to explore these musical forms in every generation following Beethoven. In this program, pianists Akina Yura, Maria Sumareva, and Inesa Gegprifti will perform piano bagatelles by Ludwig van Beethoven, Howard Ferguson, Béla Bartók, and one of KMA’s 2020 Call for Scores winners, Michael Coleman. The concert presentation will include introductory talks by the performers, composer Michael Coleman, and visual artist Shima Iuchi, whose animated artwork was commissioned to accompany Ferguson’s Five Bagatelles. Watch the second Digital Premiere of our Drive-Through Theatre Experience featuring Latin Grammy Nominee José Negroni on Friday, September 18 at 8pm EST on the official Miami-Dade County Auditorium YouTube page. Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Drive-Through Theatre Experience is a live outdoor series that allows patrons to enjoy free and unique cultural performances from the safety of their own vehicle. This performance features Latin Grammy Nominee José Negroni and was filmed live at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium outdoor theatre stage. In this piano concert, José Negroni combines his original classical style with captivating fusions of jazz and Latin rhythms in two original compositions. As Miami-Dade County begins to reopen, the Auditorium will continue to provide diverse and affordable arts experiences for residents and visitors. Celebrate the arts and enjoy your favorite performers in a safe and secure outdoor setting as we transition over to a new normal of performing arts. Miami-Dade County Auditorium is managed by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, with funding support from the office of the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. SHAAM-E-GHAZAL: An Enchanting Evening with Ghazal Maestro, Talat Aziz and local artist Sitarist Stephan Mikes.

Talat Aziz is a world renowned Ghazal Singer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talat_Aziz). Ghazal is a unique genre of music. It may be described as a poetic expression of pain, loss, separation, love in the face of separation - set to music. This form of music traces its origin to 7th-century Arabic poetry.
