Safely showcasing a curated group of ten companies and choreographers in this COVID-19 moment, this 10th anniversary Daniel Lewis Dance Sampler evening will feature specially created "dance on film" segments and recorded concert footage. The showcase of short works and excerpts will be one "performance" only viewable online on Friday, October 23 at 7:00 pm.
The work ranges from a flamenco interpretation of an Ibsen play to a dance video shot among the mangroves of the Florida coast to quarantine-inspired works. In addition to performances, the streamed show will feature interviews with the choreographers and directors, moderated by Cameron Basden from Miami Dance Hub.
The program will last about one hour. Participating groups include: Arts Ballet Theater, Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, Dance NOW! Miami, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami, Karen Peterson and Dancers, Kyra Jean Green, Momentum Dance Company, New World Dance Ensemble, Sandra Portal Andreu and Pioneer Winter Collective.
