SONGS OF THE DIASPORA: A Concert Celebration of AfroLatinidad - Miami Presented by Hued Songs

Songs of the Diaspora is a live performance and community gathering at HistoryMiami Museum that explores AfroLatinidad through music, movement, storytelling, and shared memory.
Rooted in the living traditions of the Black Caribbean, the evening follows the rhythms, journeys, and cultural exchanges that connect communities across the Americas and beyond.

Headlined by Afro-Latina soprano and scholar Dr. Zuly Inirio, alongside musicians and artists from across the Diaspora, the performance blends ancestral songs with contemporary expression. It honors where we’ve come from while making space for who we are now.

This is more than a concert.

This is a space to gather, reflect, and participate. Through moments of call and response, story, and shared rhythm, audiences are invited into an experience of connection, grounded in history, alive in the present, and rooted in community here in South Florida.
