Marina, Zarzuela Highlights in Concert Presented by Florida L'Opera & Zarzuela Corp.

Originally written as a zarzuela by Emilio Arrieta, and later edited by the same composer as Spanish Opera, Marina stands out as a true Bel Canto mastepiece in Donizetti's Italianate style.

Featuring soprano Roxana Triana, tenor Carlos Silva, bass-baritone Johan Hartman, baritone Jose Tauler, and pianist Zayli Escalona, in a wonderful concert version of this Spanish beloved classic.

Join us in an memorable evening of Spanish Bel Canto.

The plot, set in a fishing village, revolve around the orphan Marina and the sea captain Jorge, who through a misunderstanding over a letter she treasures and a false report by the shipwright Pascual, a rival suitor, are kept apart until matters are hastily resolved by the disclosure that the letter was from her dead father.
