Celebrating 75 years of history, culture, and the environment. Join the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust’s 75th Anniversary Celebration – Virtual Film Exhibition on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 6pm. 


The celebration combines compelling storytelling, interactive experiences, great cocktails, and lots of fun!

Notable Historian, Dr. N. D. B. Connolly will narrate three documentary shorts expounding on the critical stories that have framed Miami’s history commemorating the progressive struggle of African Americans and Caribbean Diaspora throughout South Florida over the last 75 years.

“The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust (VKBPT) has always stood for social justice, community inclusion, equality and uplifting the important contributions of African Americans in South Florida. The Virtual Film Exhibition and Cocktail Reception will showcase just that, safely from the comfort of your home,” says Guy Forchion, VKBPT Executive Director.

The show also includes:
• “Kizie The Violist,” who will take viewers on a musical journey through the Historic Beach Park Site-no snooze here, you will be on your feet dancing!
• A special Unsung Heroes Tribute, surprises, and more!
• All hosted by media personality Vanessa James
