Brazilian Voices, the acclaimed female vocal group, presents AMAZONAS: The Rhythm of Nature. The performance will portray the strengths and threats of the Amazon Rainforest. Through music, engagement with the audience, and screen images by the Brazilian artist Ernesto Kunde, the group will spread awareness of the importance of the Amazon rainforest, the Everglades, and the planet's ecosystem. The program includes a visual arts component with the participation of two Brazilian artists residing in Miami. Clara Piquet will exhibit her paintings at the gallery lobby, which will include themes on Brazilian indigenous communities and the environment. Ernesto Kunde, a visionary artist renowned for his transformative prowess, skillfully captures dynamic landscapes on canvas, wood, and aluminum. Beyond aesthetics, Kunde's mission extends deeper—he aspires to awaken consciousness about evolving environments.
This event sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) consists of two interactive performances with songs with original arrangements. These performances are made possible through the Cultural Arts Partnership Program (CAP@SRT), a collaborative initiative by Fantasy Theatre Factory to enhance cultural engagement at the Sandrell Rivers Theater.
