Urgent, Inc. cordially invite teen programs, high school summer interns, youth groups, youth leaders to join us for this exciting youth conference! For the fourth year, Urgent, Inc. presents the annual Youth Economic Development Conference & Expo (#YEDC2017) in partnership with the Southeast Overtown Park West Community Redevelopment Agency, The Children's Trust and Miami Dade College North Campus.  

The conference will take place on July 11 & 12, 2017 from 8:30am-3:30pm at Miami Dade College North Campus, 11380 NW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33167.  The event is free for youth ages 14-21, adults and chaperones are $25/day.

This high-energy, motivational, and educational day includes career workshops in industries targeted under One Community One Goal, youth arts expos, entertainment, and competitions. Youth will exchange, learn, connect and collaborate with successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and educators.

Conference At-a-Glance
The conference will open each day featuring the highly anticipated Youth 4 Social Change Film Festival.  Subsequent break-out sessions include interactive workshops, youth-led expos and Master Classes from film and television industry professionals.  The balance of the conference will focus on Arts, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism, and Journalism. Miami Dade College North Campus will also offer student-led campus tours, Continuing Education Courses in Technology and Film, and an introduction to MDC’s curriculum in the area of Science and Forensics.  

Highlights

Other highlights include the Youth Town Hall Design Challenge focused on youth employment, Teen Talk Show, and keynote speakers Lowell Gelin of On Call Mechanics, and Moziah Bridges of Mo's Bows.  Additionally, emerging entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas at the Urban Philanthropies Business Pitch Competition and the winners will receive start-up funds and tech.  Breakfast and lunch will be served each day.

The event is FREE for youth ages 14-21 but reservations are required. Click button below to register.
