National Ballet of Ukraine presents Sleeping Beauty

Celebrating its 150th Anniversary on tour in the U.S., National Ballet of Ukraine proudly announces one of its majestic spectacles - "Sleeping Beauty".

The singular piece is a renowned world classic adapted by the Ukrainian troupe in a unique style combining classic techniques with original dancing methods including the signature lightness and grace of movement leaving he impression dancers floating the floor "en pointe". The production of "Sleeping Beauty" features elaborate choreography to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, and is complemented with vivid costumes, elaborate scenery, and a cast of fabulous characters.

Staged in 1938 for the first time at The National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre the current version was updated in 1990 by choreographer Viktor Lytvynov. It is one of the most elegant productions presented by The National Ballet of Ukraine, featuring 42 artists on stage.

The fairy-ballet acted out by The National Ballet of Ukraine has a structure of two acts with a prologue and an apotheosis with total running time of 2 hours 55 minutes and is presented with one interval.
