National Ballet of Ukraine presents Don Quixote

National Ballet of Ukraine: Don Quixote Celebrating its 150th Anniversary on a tour of the U.S., National Ballet of Ukraine proudly presents a dynamic performance of Don Quixote.

The National Ballet of Ukraine presents the famously jovial “Don Quixote” starring a special guest - Teatro alla Scala soloist Leonid Sarafanov on stage at the Olympia Theater. An outstanding classical ballet piece is known for dazzling choreography, unsurpassed sets, and vivid costumes. One of the most loved productions produced by Ntional Ballet of Ukraine in the 20th Century, combines classical Russian ballet techniques and contemporary interpretation so that the performers appear to soar over the stage.

Composed by Ludwig Minkus and originally choreographed by Marius Petipa, this ballet recreates a charming vision of seventeenth century Spain as imagined in the original novel by Miguel de Cervantes.

Choreographer Viktor Lytvynov who had chosen the Bolshoi’s original staging as a benchmark, has elaborated this current version of the famous piece, presented by the National Ballet.
