Plaza Presented by Pioneer Winter Collective

Plaza Presented by Pioneer Winter Collective

"PLAZA" Grass Stains Performance by Liony Garcia Synopsis: Liony Garcia’s exploration, Plaza, is a site-specific creation that takes form inside Chicago Produce, a warehouse in the Produce Center of Miami's Allapattah neighborhood.

This live performance is inspired by the social and economic forces that envelop a neighborhood that is increasingly faced with erasure and displacement caused by gentrification. Plaza is intrinsically tied to images of the world of labor, tasks and repetition - and brings to the foreground the site's connection to community and shared history. A cast of eight dancers and an original electronica score animate and engage with the objects and machinery within the warehouse, merging to become part of a unified kinetic and sound landscape.
