Impressions - Monotype Printing with Jennifer Printz Presented by Frost Art Museum

Join us as Artist and FIU Assistant Professor of Drawing, Jennifer Printz leads us in a printmaking workshop using found objects.

Participants will experiment with layering textures, imagery, and uncover the impressions of our world.

This program is inspired by the exhibition Leonardo Drew: Cycles. Leonardo Drew’s prints, at once powerfully large yet fragile, test the versatility of the medium, transforming cotton paper pulp and pigment into what suggests densely populated cities, a forest, or an urban wasteland. They sometimes look like maps of geographical landscapes viewed from above, while others are reminiscent of the night sky and distant galaxies. Leonardo Drew (American (b. 1961)), Number 50P [detail], edition 8/10, 2015, Pigmented and printed handmade paper, 18 1/2 x 25 inches, Collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer
